The Beautiful Business of Creating a Life-Centered Economy
Tim gave a talk and hosted a breakfast session at The Conduit in Oslo.
In the face of the disruptions caused by Artificial Intelligence, and the effects of late capitalism on our wellbeing and the health of our planet and societies, business is undergoing a profound shift. In his talk at The Conduit, a collaborative community of social changemakers in Oslo, Tim argued that going forward, the most important work for us humans will be the kind of work that must be done beautifully rather than efficiently—wholeheartedly, full-bodied, with imagination, purpose, and compassion. Instead of managing life, organizations must become like life, and mimic biological principles. And human-centered products and services must make way for those that honor all life on earth.
At a breakfast session the following morning, Tim spoke about “Curation as Your Next Leadership Superpower.” Curation is a practice typically associated with the selection and assembly of museum collections and art exhibitions, or the selection of speakers at a conference. But curation is quickly becoming a vital skill for surviving modern life. To inspire and manage teams, to present ideas that resonate and have an impact, to lead a healthier, more conscious, more fulfilled life, you need curation. Consider it the superpower you didn’t know you had. Curation is the means by which we make sense of our complex world. In this breakfast conversation, Tim discussed the key principles of artful curation and how they apply to our work and life.
